Dr. Mingshe Zhu is the CSO of MassDefect Technologies that develops innovative HRMS data acquisition and data processing technology for xenobiotic profiling. He is also an independent consultant to provide drug metabolism consultation services to biotech, pharm and CRO in USA and China. Dr. Zhu previously worked in Bristol-Myers Squibb for 20 years, where he and his collaborators developed several new LC-MS workflows and data-mining technologies such as mass defect filter and background subtraction for drug metabolite detection and identification. His current research interests include the applications of LC-HRMS methods for profiling metabolites of unconventional drug modalities such as herbal medicines, ADC, cyclic peptides, , and covalent drugs. He received Ph.D. in chemical toxicology at SUNY Albany and completed post-doctoral fellowship in drug metabolism at University of Washington. Dr. Zhu taught drug metabolism and mass spectrometry short courses at ASMS (2011-present), EAS (2002-2010) and ACS (2006, 2008). He co-authored over 100 research articles and reviews and co-edited two books, Drug Metabolism in Drug Design and Development, and Mass Spectrometry in Drug Metabolism and Disposition.
